From differentiated dosage form to structured evidence
Building a structured evidence package around patient preference, product performance and future strategy.
The starting point
A client had developed a differentiated oral dosage form but lacked meaningful clinical data to demonstrate patient preference and performance.
The need therefore extended beyond the dosage form itself: the program required a structured pathway connecting product development with patient-focused evidence and interpretation.

Challenge
The central challenge was to translate an existing differentiated dosage-form concept into a stronger evidence foundation while maintaining a clear line of sight to scientific, commercial and regulatory questions.
Objective
Create a structured evidence pathway connecting formulation and product understanding with patient-focused clinical evidence, statistical interpretation and final scientific reporting.
Seven workstreams in three phases
-
Phase 1
Product foundation
- 01Final formulation optimizationRefining the product foundation before evidence generation.
- 02Analytical characterizationDeveloping clearer technical understanding of the product.
- 03Pilot productionProgressing the formulation through development-scale production.
-
Phase 2
Evidence generation
- 04International clinical-study planningEstablishing the framework for clinical evidence generation.
- 05Patient-reported outcome measuresIncorporating patient-focused evidence.
-
Phase 3
Interpretation & reporting
- 06Statistical analysisStructuring interpretation of the evidence.
- 07Final clinical reportConsolidating the work into a formal evidence output.
How the workstreams built the evidence package
- 01Formulation & analytical workEstablished technical understanding
- 02Pilot productionSupported progression
- 03Clinical-study planningEstablished the evidence pathway
- 04Patient-reported outcomesIntroduced the patient perspective
- 05Statistical analysisSupported interpretation
- 06Final clinical reportConsolidated the work
Result
A structured evidence package was created to inform future scientific, commercial and regulatory strategy.
Strategic value
- Scientific
Connected product-development understanding with clinical and patient-focused evidence.
- Commercial
Created an evidence foundation for future product discussions.
- Regulatory
Provided a structured evidence base for future regulatory strategy considerations.
